Hi Jim First, I would normally get advice from the equipment and powder supplier/manufacturer. In this case though, I think the answer would be that the equipment and powder are not compatible, as Metco 71-VF-NS was developed for plasma spraying. I have no experience with HVOF spraying 71-VF-NS, but have applied Metco 72F and 73F through the JP5000 with good results (probably not as good as the equivalent powders designed for this gun though) Choose a powder from the list of recommended powders that is similar in chemistry and particle size and use these parameters. You may need to tweak the parameters to achieve your desired coating quality, but it should provide a good starting point. Regards Gordon
