Gordon, Iam using 9MB gun (Sulzer Metco) and N2-H2 system as my primary and secondray gas. I have checked thro my powder feeding system and cooling air jet which could possibly provoke turbulence. everythings seems ok. Yet we still can't solve the cluster oxide problem. Several parameters change on nozzle type, stand off dist., primary gas and current...etc. there is improvement on the oxide level yet still see no break through on the cluster oxide. I am still getting localized cluster ratable at 0.003 ~~~~0.008 "
I am getting something like the photo you posted but the microstructure seems a bit different. what is the photo Magnification factor? 100 X or 250X, it definitely not 500X. And what system and gun is used to produce the Inco718. I wish I could post you a defective photo but let me know how to do it?
