Cathodic bars used in plating process need a coating to protect
the copper substrate from corrosion and to provide a stripable
surface when plating builds up. These bars are in acid copper
plating solution with a small area exposed to carry current to the
product, the balance of the copper bar is covered with plastisol.
The exposed area requires a spray coating that will not corrode,
have great transfer of DC current, provide low porosity and have a
large micron surface texture to provide bonding of the plastisol
coating. I know HVOF would work but what material/s are the most
suitable. Thanks in advance for your help!
