Hello,
I would like to get more information about influence of substrate
temperature during the spraying on tungsten carbide coating
properties.
Before spraying I preheat substrate with the gun flame up to
50-100C, and during the spraying process I try to keep temperature
constant max. it exceed 150C. If it is necessary I use cooling with
air.
But I get information that it is nonsense. And there is no problem
with coating properties if temperature during the depositing time
increase from 20C up to 250C.And preaheating is needless.
My opinion is that due internal stresses coating can rebound
(go out).
And next question what is minimum thickness of WC/Co coating on
steel substrate(hardness 250HB)that it couldn't brake
due to preassure of 300bar
Best regards
