Hi,
Do you rally need a coating on Nimonics unless you need to dilute
the exceptionally high strength of Nimonic at as high a temperature
as 800*C, due to gamma prime phase(Ni3AL).If you need
to put a coating on Nimonics the best buffer is possibly
Inconel625.Stellite cannot be directle put on Nimonic by even in
low dilution PTA process. You need Inconel buffer.Dilution in PTA
can be controlled within 5%.Chack for more details on PTA
overlays in my book "Advanced Thermally Assisted Surface
Engineering Processes", Springer Verlaug(earlier Kluwer
Academic Publishings), NY, 2004.
