Coating stripping

Hi Folks,

Does anyone have any tips for stripping fused self flux containing 50% Tungsten Carbide?

Is there any acid/chemicals that can assist? Base metal will be Mild or 4140 in some cases stainless

Machining not really an option, only grit blasting

Hi Kev,

By sandblasting with corundum or angular steel grit remove you the both of layer significantly faster and easier than with chemistry. Remove HVOF layer with sandblasting is lighter than the layers of self-fluxing alloys.
