Tinning mill rolls
Hi all,
We just coated a couple of rolls running in acidic condition in a tinning mill with WOKA 3652 FC -100 microns thickness as a replacement for hard chrome plating
We left the rolls as sprayed with a surface Ra if 4-6 microns as desired by the customer
The roll runs in an acidic condition with acids and chemicals like stenos sulphate and chromium oxide
The coating failed within hours of operation with the customer stating a " peel off from the surface" issue
Please let me know if the acid may have caused the problem for the WC coating because if the porosity due to the surface roughness.....or if probably a WC 12Co or 17 Co would perform better....Or any other reason that may have caused the failure. The coating was carried out with OEM parameters on a standard blasted surface.
Regards
Shantanu
