well...most of your queries have already been answered by gordon and stephen.
just wanted to add that for any cermaic coating, 2mm thickness is very high. a finished thickness range of 200 to 400 microns should give you optimal results. also ensure that when you deposit the the ceramic such that the substrate temprature doesnot exceed 100Degree C.
Also, you have mentioned ID coating. unless you have a ID gun, spraying a hole more that 2-3" long will not be possible as you can only tilt the gun upto a treshold limit (30-45 degrees from gun axis). tilting it further will reduce your deposition efficiency and increase shadow porosity drastically.
